Explore Melbourne is the largest meetup group in Australia. People attend our events to de-stress and relax in a friendly environment. Please don’t take your stress out on someone regardless of what’s going on in your life. If you find people who are not friendly to you, you can give them demerit points. Demerit points can limit your ability to attend overnight trips. You can also get a demerit point if someone avoids our events because of you or if you use our private itineraries to create vlogs.
What are demerit points?
The demerit points system aims to encourage our members to be friendly when meeting others. You can get demerit points for some offences. If you get too many points you will not be able to attend events for 3 years.
What are the demerit point limits?
There are different limits on how many demerit points you can get depending on your current loyalty card level.
BRONZE : No more than 3 demerit points within any three-year period.
SILVER: No more than 7 demerit points within any three-year period.
GOLD: No more than 11 demerit points within any three-year period.

When are the demerit points removed?
Demerit points will be removed after you have:
- attended events for 12 months without getting any more demerit points.
8 Simple Group Rules
Besides demerit points, we have eight simple rules in place to protect our community and for everyone to have a positive experience. By joining this event, you agree to the below rules. Any violation of the above rules will result in permanent removal from our groups regardless of demerit points.
Our group rules are non-negotiable. They have been added gradually over the last 6 years.
a) We are not a dating group. There are other groups for that.
b) We have a no-phone number policy. It is not okay to ask members for their phone numbers or to share your number with others. Please use meetup’s messaging system if you wish to communicate with someone you have met.
c) Due to the Meetup policy, our events are only open to people aged 18 and older.
d) We ask that you refrain from adding people to WhatsApp or other groups.
e) Please do not advertise other events or groups.
f) Please don’t be clingy. Please allow our members to socialize with others too.
g) We don’t allow carpooling due to safety incidents in the past.
h) Please do not sell products/services (Including MLM, Pyramid Schemes, and Mentorship) to our members during or after the event.
